Tinubu dismisses high-ranking government official and appoints a replacement.

President Bola Tinubu has removed Prof. Ifedayo Adetifa from the position of Director-General for the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, appointing Dr. Olajide Idris as the replacement effective February 19, 2024. Additionally, Dr. Mansur Kabir is named as the new Chairman of the board of the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, while Prof. Moji Adeyeye is reappointed as its Chief Executive Officer. The changes were announced by Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, under the title ‘President Tinubu approves leadership changes in health and social welfare sector.’
