Nigerian striker Austine Iheanacho is delighted after sealing a permanent transfer with Zambian Super League club, Zanaco FC.
Iheanacho joins Zanaco on a one-year deal – as a free agent – from Ahli Khartoum SC of Sudan.
His move also comes after the arrival of Super Eagles legend Emmanuel Amuneke as a technical consultant for the Zambian outfit.
“I’m so grateful to be in Zambia and Zanaco. I’m so happy. I have watched the Zambian Super League on DSTV, mostly Zanaco and Red Arrows,” Iheanacho stated on the club’s website.
“I came here to work and I will deliver what I came for and as a striker, I need to score goals.”
Zanaco CEO Modest Hamalabbi said the club was happy with the arrival of the Nigerian.
“With the coming of Austine, given his experience and past glory in the Sudanese league, we believe that he will add value to the club.”
Iheanancho has spent most of his football career in Sudan, where he played for Ayl Arab, Shebab Nasri, Ahli Merowe and Hilal Fasher.
