Where did you meet your wife?

We met on a path in my area. She was on an errand and I was standing by longing for someone to engage in a conversation with. Although we stayed in the same area for years, that day was the first time we met.

Can you remember the first words you said to her?

Sighs. I remember that on that day I was bored and discouraged. So when I saw the beautiful lady coming, it was love at first sight. I walked up to her and said, “Can I be your friend?” and she said okay. I was so happy.

When did you know that you would end up marrying her?

First, she has a good and godly character that I cherish in a woman. She’s also calm and fun to be with.

When I discovered that I was always eager to see her every day it was a sign to me that she was the person I would want to spend the rest of my life with.

I was also thrilled when she rejected my offer of money and told me that she doesn’t need my money. I could not imagine that and it was quite strange to me.

What event made your wedding day memorable?

All the events on our wedding day were memorable but my wife surprised me with her dance steps. I never knew she could dance like that. I don’t know where the steps are now. (Laughs).

How has the marital journey been?

The journey has been awesome. It has been full of new challenges but God has been faithful.

We have been able to scale through the challenges by tolerating and understanding each other. In marriage, we need more than love and God has been helping us to fulfill our marital vows.

How have you been able to balance your career and home?

The two most important parts of my life are my home and career. I am sure I balance them equally. I always make sure that I create happy and fun-filled moments with my family. I ensure that my work does not interfere with my role at home.

What has been the best part of your marriage so far?

The best part is that I found a friend whom I married and we laugh, cry and win our battles together. I also enjoy peace of mind with my wife and children.

What’s your advice to young people planning to marry?

My advice to them is to make the right choice prayerfully and be patient in handling any challenge.
