Ekiti State Commissioner for Information, Akinbowale Omole, said on Friday that the administration of Governor Kayode Fayemi has delivered on its policies, programmes and projects.
Omole, who is the Chairman, Media and Publicity Committee of Fayemi’s fourth anniversary celebration, said that the governor’s efforts had achieved tangible outcomes, saying, “I have no doubt that many of our visionary efforts would continue to deliver outcomes for generations to come.”
The commissioner spoke in Ado Ekiti during a media briefing heralding Fayemi’s fourth anniversary celebration with the theme, ‘Finishing Well’ and the inauguration on October 16, 2022 of Biodun Oyebanji as governor.
Fayemi, a two-term governor of Ekiti State, will complete his second tenure on October 15, while the governor-elect, Oyebanji will be inaugurated as governor the following day.
Omole said, “The outgoing administration came to office on the promise of tackling infrastructure decay and developing the economy. Against all odds, the administration fulfilled its promises and is bequeathing a solid foundation for fast economic development of Ekiti State for successive administrations to build on.
“As a government, we are conscious of the fact that there may be areas where expectations were not met due to unforeseen circumstances and the realities of the period under review.
‘’Nevertheless, it is heartwarming to inform you today that whatever the outgoing government couldn’t perfect will be handled and perfected by the incoming administration.”
He said that under the Fayemi government, the Ekiti International Agro-Allied Cargo Airport was a dream come true, not only for this administration, but also for Ekiti-kete and for generations yet unborn.
Though projected to be an agro-based cargo airport, this does not foreclose commercial passenger operation, he noted.
According to him, the Fayemi government embarked on many priority projects, some of which had been completed, while others are ongoing, adding, “Completed projects include dual-lane new Ado-Iyin Road and the construction of Ekiti State Governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja.’’
